I saw this incredible interview on YouTube today and since so many of my musician friends own and play Fender Stratocasters, I thought you all might enjoy this collection of memorabilia...

here's a clip I shot at The Presidio Yacht Club in May of 2011, Joey Davis, former wife of one of the members of the Dick Dale Band and some of his buds came up from Huntington Beach at her request to do a Surf Music Extravaganza for Maria's Thursday Night Dine & Dance event...this is Miserlou (the rest of the show can be viewed here at Presidio Yacht Club Express)

SAUSALITO - A very special event happened at Presidio Yacht Club Thursday, July 5th, 2012, when the Blues Hall Of Fame's San Francisco Ambassador Monica Dupont presented certificates inducting several great blues artists into the Blues Hall Of Fame.  Amongst the many musicians inducted were Alice Stuart, Mike Wilhelm, Ron Thompson, Volker Strifler, Addie, Mitch Woods and Stompy Jones.  Many legendary blues artists fro the Bar Area were posthumously honored as well.  In her personal invitation to participants Dupont wrote, "Many talented people will be there, sitting in and showing their love and support.  This will be a great evening!!!"

The house band for this historic event, Mike Wilhelm & Hired Guns was augmented by special guest stars including Monica Dupont, multi-instrumentalists Gary Novak and Buzzy Linhart, guitarist/vocalist Volker Strifler, Stompy Jones, vocalist Christopher Binnings, drummer Bill Barton, The Ravines, vocalist/guitarist Rev Rabia, the incomparable Ed Earley on trombone and vocals, and many more outstanding players.  The event was recorded on video by Ed Chatham of Bebop Videos for the BHOF archives. The Blue Wing Saloon presents a special edition of Mike Wilhelm and Hired Guns on Monday, September 17. In addition to Blues Hall of Fame inductee, guitarist/vocalist Wilhelm, three-time Grammy-winning woodwind virtuoso Paul McCandless on saxes and flute and outstanding Bay Area gutbucket blues singer and guitarist Rev Rabia will be joining the band. Rounding out the aggregation are Gary Bouley on guitar, Jamie Webber on bass and Colin Holmes on drums...

It has a dance floor and full bar. Hostess Maria Perrin starts serving a home-cooked dinner at 5:00 pm for the nominal cost of $8.00. The music starts at 7:00 pm and continues until 10:00. A $5.00 donation is requested for the musicians. Yacht Club members gratis.

Mike Wilhelm & Hired Guns play R & B and Jump Blues for Maria's Dining & Dancing at Presidio Yacht Club, Ft. Baker, Sausalito on Thursday, May 3 and Blues Monday at the Blue Wing Saloon, Upper Lake on Monday, May 7...Maria's Dine & Dance is a regular Thursday feature at Presidio Yacht Club. Dinner serves starting at 5 pm and the band plays for dancing from 7 until 10 pm. Dinner is priced at $8 and a $5 cover donation is requested for the band starting at 6:45. Yacht Club members pay no cover
